What is a sub-standard structure?
Chapter 26 of the City Code of Ordinances defines a sub-standard building as a structure having one or more structural, electrical, plumbing, weatherproofing deficiencies to an extent the structure is not safe. The owner of such a structure may be subject to action by the Building and Standards Commission which can assess Civil Penalties and order abatement at the owner’s expense up to and including demolition of the structure and clearing of the land.
