Halk began working for the City of Brownwood in 2020 in the Water Department and currently works for the Fire Department. She was nominated for this award based on how well she models the Core Values of excellence. She is described as dedicated, hardworking, likeable, and reliable. She is professional and her values are consistent with the core values of the city.

She is a trustworthy team member. She is the face of the Fire Department, and is the first person customers see when they walk in the door. She always treats our customers with compassion and assists them to the best of her ability."
