City of Brownwood and Hendrick Medical Center Partner for COVID-19 drive-thru clinic
The Brownwood/Brown County Health Department and Hendrick Medical Center Brownwood are partnering to host a closed drive-thru COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic on Wednesday, February 3rd, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The clinic is listed as “closed” in order to better serve qualifying individuals who have previously signed up on the Health Department’s vaccination contact list. The clinic is in response to a large-scale shipment of 600 vaccine doses supplied to Hendrick Medical Center Brownwood. As additional vaccine shipments arrive in the future, the Health Department and Hendrick Brownwood expect to coordinate more large-scale vaccination events.
The closed drive-thru clinic scheduled for Wednesday will focus on vaccinating remaining qualifying health care workers in the “1A Phase,” as well as individuals over the age of 65 years old with specific pre-existing health conditions as outlined by the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS).
Qualifying individuals in both groups will be sent an email with detailed information, including an online registration where participants will be instructed to choose an appointment time. Registered participants in the drive-thru clinic will be receiving email notifications from "email@example.com". If a qualifying individual on the contact list did not provide an email address, they will be contacted by phone with instructions on how to schedule an appointment.
Anyone arriving at the vaccination clinic scheduled for Wednesday without a prescheduled appointment will not be able to receive a vaccine on that date.
As additional shipments of vaccines become available, communications will be sent to those on the Brownwood/Brown County Health Department vaccine contact list according to criteria established by DSHS. Community members who would like to register for a vaccine in the future are encouraged to go to www.brownwoodtexas.gov/health
This form will serve as a contact list to be used by the Brownwood/Brown County Health Department and Hendrick Medical Center Brownwood when more vaccines become available for qualifying groups. The Health Department may share this list with local providers who have vaccines in order to expedite vaccine distribution.
