[ARCHIVED] City Closed - July 4th and July 5th

Independence Day closure on Thursday, July 4th 2024

Brownwood City Hall, Landfill and Recycling Center, and other non-emergency facilities will close Thursday, July 4th and Friday, July 5th.

Brownwood City Hall and other non-emergency facilities will close Thursday, July 4th, and Friday, July 5th. Brownwood Regional Landfill and Recycling operating hours will resume Saturday, July 6th . All non-emergency facilities will resume normal operating hours on Monday, July 8th  

Brownwood Senior Citizen Center: Home delivery meals will receive a shelf stable meal delivered on Wednesday, to in lieu of Friday meal delivery. Congregate meal and Senior Citizen Center will be closed both July 4th, and July 5th.

Camp Bowie Aquatic Center & Wiggins Pool:  Closed Thursday, July 4th. Regular operating hours resume Friday,  July 5th for from 10:15 am - 1:45 pm and 2:15 pm - 5:45 pm

Brownwood residential curbside trash routes for the week will be collected as follows: 

  • Thursday, July 4th routes will be collected on Wednesday, July 3rd.         
  • Friday, July 5th routes will be collected on Saturday, July 6th.

Please have your carts out by 7 a.m. to ensure collection. Call 325-643-4200 with questions or concerns. 

  • Emergency services are available for water line breaks and sewer backups 24 hours a day, seven days a week by calling 325-646-6000.
  •  Utility services for new or existing accounts including transfers will be not be available until Monday, July 8th. 
  • Questions concerning Utility Billing be addressed by calling 325-646-9700.
  • Questions concerning the Landfill can be addressed by calling 325-646-6574.
  • Questions concerning the Recycling center can be addressed by calling 325-641-8832.
