Do I have to pay in order to use the landfill? Even if I bring my water bill?: Yes! Everyone that uses our facility is charged. Fees vary according to where you reside and what you are bringing in. See our current rate ordinance no.14-16 for rates. Fees are subject to change.

1. Can anyone use the landfill?: Yes. Being a resident of the City of Brownwood is not a requirement to use the city landfill.

2. Do I have to weigh in and out at the Landfill?: Yes, it is required that all vehicles be weighed in at the scale house upon arrival, then again on departure in order to get the weight without the load. Through this weighing process, the daily incoming waste tonnage can be calculated and listed in databases for record keeping.
